At Harvard, Adnan Toric is debating Varsity Lincoln Douglas for Fern Creek Traditional HS

At U.Penn, we have two schools present!

For Highlands Latin, Jessica Kettle is competing in Varsity LD, and is here with her coach, Marybeth Kettle.

For Henry Clay HS, the Public Forum teams of Taylor Beegle & Sam Yu and Mary Price Duncan and Urvi Patwardhan are here along with their coach, Jana Atcher, and yours truly.

Yep. Already. During this Regional Season, and before I can begin to section, pair, and otherwise manage the State Tournament, I thought I’d give you all the opportunity to think about and let us know about two things.

State Registration

Registration for both Junior and Senior State tournaments is now open. Please refer to the key information on the State Championship Tournaments page above. Links to the tabroom sites are there.

In a change from previous years, coaches are responsible for registering their students.

Weather Postponement I

The Northern Kentucky JUNIOR Regional Tournament has been postponed until 18 February 2012. The SENIOR Division tournament is still on as of 11 am on Friday.

I will be traveling to New Jersey and New York later today, in part to take care of some mom-care issues (nothing health-related) and in part to judge for Ben Swanson of Henry Clay High School, who will be competing in Lincoln Douglas Debate at the 2012 Newark Invitational. Over the weekend, I will email everyone whose Regional Entries AND fees I have received as of my departure. On Tuesday, after my return on Monday, I will notify everyone else after getting the mail from Friday – Monday.

I will be traveling Thursday afternoon and all day Monday, but should have decent internet access as of Friday afternoon through Sunday.

If the mail service ends up slow, not to worry.

Congratulations are in order to DREW LANE of Danville, who is the Tournament Champion in HUMOROUS INTERPRETATION at the Barkley Forum for High Schools at Emory University this weekend.

Way to go, Drew!

Also in HI, Chandler Tomlinson came in 3rd, and Jack Graham was named Finalist.

In Poetry/Prose, Chandler Tomlinson was named Finalist.
